I was with my friend in his car just driving to our destination when this cop does a complete U-turnright in front of us!!! I know that it may not be shocking to most people cause at least everybody has seen a cop do something that they themselves give tickets for, for example ; speeding, passing red lights (even turning on the sirens when doing so and then taking them off later ), passing stop signs, parking in handicap zones, and doing u-turns. I was mad because it's not the first time I'm disappointed in an authority figure that breaks the own rules or laws they are meant to look after. I ask my friend what his opinion on that was and he says that they can do it cause they're cops, and "who knows maybe he was called in from work and had an emergency to take care of." If that's the cops excuse, can I be able to use it? When I get stopped by the cop will he let me off the hook if I just say " oh, well I was called and I have an emergency I need to take care of?" The chances are minimal. There is even a website made for people who have corrupt stories to tell : Goldenseed: Corrupt Cop Stories Cops aren't the only one's that do it though.

I personally find this article to be very interesting, not only do i strongly agree but i know of police officers who agree with the phrase " because we're cops" they do infact text while driving, not to mention speed in school zones! basically the things they have to watch out for and fine us for, they go ahead and do. Which i say is bulls#!t, it's abuse of power and this is something that not only police officers do but others with power as well. The worst thing i've seen yet is EMTs speeding in an ambulance with their sirens on just to get to Burger King!!!!, it's unfortunate really, to see our authorative figures abuse their power, and get away with it.

yeah, doesn't it just get you mad, it makes me feel so impotent!! But, i mean there's nothing much we can do about it because like you said "they're cops"... well in a matter of speaking anyway.

From what I've heard, no one is above the law. Doesn't that include cops? I think it does. Cops sometimes think they are better than everyone else just because they are cops.
